Philosophical thinkings.

The whole dream/demon argument to me does make sense. Being the type of person I am, I tend to think about everything all the time. One time I even spent an entire day doing nothing but wondering about how much I have missed out on (experiences and such) by living in mostly smaller populated areas after first growing up in the capital city of Oklahoma. But only one thing prevents me from fully believing in the whole “it’s all a dream” statement, is the fact that there are so many variables within life that in my opinion make it untrue. There is too much information for it all to be just a created figment of my imagination. Though dreams can be vivid, in no way can they fully develop out into an entire life. Unless of course we maybe throw this in, supposedly humans only use 10% of our brains correct? What if the other 90% was currently devoted to creating this dream state, maybe then it is possible for a dreamed existence (in the physical sense).

But even after pondering that, I still find it improbable that I essentially am not a physical body in some way or another. I could however picture that this world is like an online game in a sense. Though I find it improbable for us to create everything for this “dream”, it would be possible in my mind for a mind dedicated to nothing but the creation of this world and then collectively include other mind to act as “players” of this dream to be possible. Kind of like how an online game works, the server holds the info of the world you access it and move about in it.

Well there is my 2 cents on this subject.

Smoke.

Alright, first thing I want to establish is this. I am not a smoker, but do not see any reason to go on a hunt for people that do. All of this media attention on why smokers are evil people yet misled and duped by the companies to purchase and use their product is maddening. Recently I viewed an ad by Truth in which they used quotes from tobacco company letters describing the types of people who will use their product. Catchy it is, but yet also I recieved this message from it.

Smokers, see how these companies view you? Shouldnt you deserve better? Its ok, it isnt your fault they were right, let us instead dupe you into following us.

Maybe I got the wrong message but it seemed to me they were only backing up the companies opinions.

Daily I read articles on laws and such getting passed by the government against smoking, along with groups attempts to help people to quit and realize how evil they are. What I find funny is that between the government and anti-tobacco groups smokers are in one hand being helped while the other is getting slapped. The anti-tobacco organizations inform smokers that their habit is horrible and will kill them, but thats ok it isnt your fault. Following that they direct lawsuits and anger towards the companies informing them they are sick for taking advantage of people, those same people they a few minutes ago they were telling are strong and just got tricked is all.

Then comes taxes and fees from the government, supported by those supposedly supportive of helping smokers by making them poor and feel bad about themselves for purchasing tobacco products.

Reality.

Can you handle life? That is the slogan for a website I came across titled Ogrish. Now I will warn you, it is not recommended that anyone with a weak stomache or under the age of 18 view this site. As it is a compltation of very real pictures and videos of crime scenes, war, Iraq, and all across the globe. Battlefield 2 Update #1

Alright. I have recently been promoted to Corporal with 1017 kills and 1339 deaths. Not bad considering that I play as either anti-tank, engineer or sniper. I have taken quite a liking to the M24, despite the lack of stopping power it makes up for it greatly by being insanely accurate. I have found myself also many times switching back and forth from handgun to rifle as the enemy charges at me furiously. I have also found it fun to hunt other snipers, as they are usually hunting me as well. Oh, also I have recently installed the new patch, and man is that Wake Island 2007 totally awesome. Playing as Marines it was a pain in the ass just to get a foothold on the island, and soon after that we were constantly getting pounded by everything they had. Even controlling a majority of the island it was still hard to finish them off. Last night on the Strike of Karkand map, playing a full 32 on 32 on the full sized map got interesting once the MECs (my team that round) ended up stuck on one side of that little river and the Marines on the other. With both teams at about 175 tickets it was a nonstop hail of bullets on either side with people charging to no avail for quite an extensive amount of time. So all in all it was a lot of fun out on the battlefield last night. Cant wait to play again soon.

Riots.

Recently I read articles and watched videos on the riots and arsons all over Paris. Sure I do not live there but that still does not stop me from feeling the anguish of what it must be like for the citizens of France getting caught in the crossfire. I just dont quite understand my generation I guess, turning to violence every time as a means to express views. How did two teenagers getting electrocuted to death from hiding in a power substation thinking the police were after them spark all of this and chants of reform. On top of that, by burning down buildings and cars, they too are helping the situation of lost jobs. Any of those vehicles could be someones only form of transportation to make it to work, and now that is lost and adding to the problem of a lack of jobs in that region. I only hope all of this settles down soon because all of this violence is not going to help the situation. In a worst case scenario the government could declare a state of Marshall Law and stop it, but then since most of the rioting is being done by the Muslim minority we might end up with a war there as well.
