Recently I read articles and watched videos on the riots and arsons all over Paris. Sure I do not live there but that still does not stop me from feeling the anguish of what it must be like for the citizens of France getting caught in the crossfire. I just dont quite understand my generation I guess, turning to violence every time as a means to express views. How did two teenagers getting electrocuted to death from hiding in a power substation thinking the police were after them spark all of this and chants of reform. On top of that, by burning down buildings and cars, they too are helping the situation of lost jobs. Any of those vehicles could be someones only form of transportation to make it to work, and now that is lost and adding to the problem of a lack of jobs in that region. I only hope all of this settles down soon because all of this violence is not going to help the situation. In a worst case scenario the government could declare a state of Marshall Law and stop it, but then since most of the rioting is being done by the Muslim minority we might end up with a war there as well.

Age.
At which point did age become so important into the relation on how mature one is? Though yes it can be related to how much experience one has in a field of expertise. No two people are always exactly alike, and people do not develop in the same manner as others every time. At which point can we judge that a person has fully developed emotionally and socially to be seen as acceptable. I think judgment of one should be done after understanding their mental state and not age.

Aid.
It is quite saddening hearing about all of the recent natural disasters across the globe, but very pleasing to hear about the unity it brings and help from all over. I greatly encourage aiding in any possible way as well, but what concerns me is who controls where the money goes. It is freely dispersed to nations and governments but what governs where it goes in the end? In the news I hear about situations such as this as well, and with the current conflict going on in that region of the world, what is preventing that money from ending up either supporting more terrorism or even just for the government to spend on itself. Im sure many others would be willing to donate more as well, as long as they were reassured that their aid is making it to where it is supposed to go.
Technology.
Well... Today I endured my first crisis at the BSU library service desk, which seemed to mostly revolve around technology. They say it is here to ease our lives, but really it just adds stress. Im sure everone out there understands this unless you live in the woods... I show up for work at 2pm, it is going to be an easy day with only 2 hours of work, what could go wrong. Only thirty minutes into work the first issue reared its ugly head at me and my co-worker. Four of the Gateway computers in the first lab began locking up and searching for a floppy disc nonstop, leaving what was a quiet room quite noisy. So we shut the PCs off and moved the students to the other room to use the computers there. Restarting all the problematic computers seemed to solve the issue. Not long after that the copier ran out of toner and the person who knew how to replace that was nowhere to be found.
Needless to say it was a hectic period of work. Thankfully the last issue to show up involved one of the printers more or less not recieving data from any of the PCs but printing normally if from a Mac. I had no solution to that problem at the time and was glad to see that my shift was over, leaving that problem for the next shift.

Battlefield 2.

Well... It is official, I am hooked on Battlefield 2 for the PC. I am not the best at First Person Shooters or ever will be, but I will have to admit that I carry a pretty nasty shot as an Anti-Tank personnel. My accuracy is horrendous as anything else, so why not pick on the tanks or transport helicopters, after all it is like hitting the broadside of a barn as they say. I fancy the Americans SRAW as my weapon of choice on the battlefield with its improved wire-guidance system that seems to work better for me than the others. The other weapons that are carried with the Anti-Tank are quite useless at times if you have someone chasing after you. I personally like using the handgun, its accurate and carries a hefty punch at close range. Not many can make it past a full clip to the chest from it, given that you have enough time to squeeze off that many rounds. If anyone is out there playing and see Dreubaud, better hope your on my side if your in a tank or else be prepared for a good fight. Unless of course you run me over, which never fails. =P
